The medium-light action is perfect for detecting those subtle winter bites. The glow jigs actually hold their charge — I charged them with my headlamp and the crappies couldn't resist. Reel is smooth with no line twist issues out of the box. For 25 bucks this combo is absurd value.

Bought this to get into ice fishing without breaking the bank. The rod is sensitive and the reel performs way above its price point. Jig selection is honestly overwhelming in a good way — tons of colors and sizes. Drag could be smoother but it gets the job done.

First drop with a glow jig, first bluegill. Can't argue with that.

The rod itself is great, sensitive and well-built for the price. The reel works but feels a bit gritty under load after a few trips. Half the jigs are winners, the others I probably won't use. Overall decent if you're starting out or want a backup combo.

The reel bail was bent in the box and it wouldn't spool properly. Jigs look great but the main component was unusable. Return process was easy at least.

Used it three weekends straight. Caught perch, gills, and one surprise bass through a 6-inch hole. The medium-light blank has enough backbone for that bass, which surprised me. Only wish the case had better jig organization.
