Gonex Waterproof Fly Box – Floating Double-Hinge Fly Fishing Box with Rubber Gasket Seal

Dropped it in the river twice and it floated right there for me. Opened it up and everything inside was bone dry thanks to the rubber gasket. Double hinge opens flat so you can see every fly. Fantastic little box.

Submerged it in the sink as a test and not a drop got in. Slotted foam holds my flies securely. Latch takes a little finger strength but that tells me it seals well.

Honestly this holds more flies than my old name brand box and seals better. I fish mostly stillwater and it has fallen off rocks, rolled in gravel, and been splashed all day without a leak. The double hinge is sturdy and opens both sides fully so nothing is hidden in the back. For under fifteen bucks this is a steal. Buying a second one for my streamer patterns.

Waterproofing works and it floats fine. It's a bit thicker than I expected in a vest pocket but that's the tradeoff for the gasket. Acceptable.

Worked well for a month then the rubber seal started peeling out of the groove on one corner. Still floats but I don't trust it submerged anymore.

I've used metal boxes, wooden boxes, plastic boxes, you name it since the seventies. This one is light, seals tight, and floats high enough to spot across a river. The foam slots grip hooks of every size without tearing. My grandkids bought it for my birthday and I'm genuinely impressed. It earned a permanent spot in my wader pocket.

Holds a full season's worth of patterns, seals great, and survives being knocked around. The hinge feels a little plasticky but has held up over two months of trips. Recommended.

Waded chest deep, box in my jacket pocket got dunked once. Everything inside was completely dry. Thrilled with it.
