I slide my 13-inch MacBook into this every morning on my commute and never worry about it. The FXT ballistic nylon is thick and the interior padding is snug without being hard to slide in and out. Fits perfectly in my backpack's laptop compartment too.
Protection is excellent — my laptop survived a drop off my desk with zero damage. Note that the fit is very snug for a 13-inch laptop with a hard shell case on, so bare laptops fit best. Zippers are smooth and feel durable.

Build quality is typical TUMI — excellent nylon and solid zippers. My 13-inch laptop with a slim case is a real squeeze to get in and out though, which is annoying multiple times a day. If you run your machine bare, this is probably a five-star sleeve.
Bought this sleeve three years ago for work and it still looks nearly new. The ballistic nylon has scuffed a few times but wiped right back to black. My laptop has survived countless flights, train commutes, and one memorable taxi-door incident. Money well spent.
