Got this for my 72 year old father who refuses to ask anyone to help him respool. He called me raving about it, said it was the best fishing gadget he's gotten in years. Clamps solid and he figured it out immediately. Only reason for 4 stars is he says the clamp mark on his table edge annoyed him slightly, ha.
Fine for 8 lb mono but the spool kept slipping when I tried 40 lb braid. Had to finish by hand. Maybe mine is defective but frustrating.

This is a well thought out tool. I've used cheaper winders that wobble or require mounting. This one clamps firmly and the tension knob actually works. Spooled my baitcaster cleanly first try. Docking one star only because the clamp could be rubberized better.
